Soil Data Access Table Relationships

SDA provides direct access to a set of interrelated tables. These tables are related by a common key into parent and child pairs, these pairs form a tree with the "sacatalog" table at the "root" of the tree. A description of the columns follows this table of the pairs.

Description of the above table's columns

• Depth: at the root of the tree the "sacatalog" table has a zero depth (or zero distance) from the root. With each hop from parent to child to grandchild table the depth increases by one for each hop.
• Parent Table: for each pair the "parent" is closer to the root of the tree.
• Key: this is the column name in both parent and child tables that joins the tables in the parent and child relationship.
• Child Table: this is the child of the parent. In the database a specific parent table record may have zero or more child table records.
